John Himmelfarb

I work from my studios in Chicago and Spring Green, Wisconsin and my paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture have been exhibited throughout the U.S. and abroad.

A major survey exhibition opens July 11, 2024, with catalog essay by Michael Bonesteel, at the Koehnline Museum of Art, and runs through September 19, 2024. The exhibition is titled " How Things Stack Up" and, using the truck motif as a central concept, compares works from 1970 to the present in which I pile or stack shapes to create the image, in both abstract and narrative works."

I am the proud recipient of two grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as other honors. I graduated from Harvard College in 1968.
