Bernard Carver

Born in Morocco and having lived in Lebanon, I have lived in Paris since I was twenty and am a bouquiniste on the Seine and lover of literature. I am inspired to paint the great monuments visible from my stand in St. Germain-des-Pres. I often start with impressionist-style pastels and add tree leaves in acrylic paint. The contrast of technique and subject matter and use of fluorescent paint add a sense of mystery to my work, giving it an illusion of illumination from within.

In addition to being represented by Art in Giving, I have exhibited at the Salon du Louvre, le Grand Palais and Live Love Atlanta.
